The Dutch Booth @ Equine Affaire 2000

Springfield, MA

The Dutch Booth in 2000 was even better than 1999!  I want to thank everyone who helped in the booth, Beth Dzaugis, Janko van de Lageweg, Linda Sabas, Bob Clemens, Melissa, Nola Snyder and my family (Rick, Adam, Amanda & Alex)..  It wouldn't have been a success without you!  It both promoted the Dutch and all our own businesses.  We also had information come in from Leah Brown, The Warmblood magazine, Chris McCarthy, NA/WPN, Nola Snyder's farm, Majestic Gaits, VDL, Shooting Star Farm.  We had a great library reference, 5 volumes of the Hengstenboek, both issues of the Leading Stallions of the Netherlands, NRPS stallion book, along with leaflets & stallionbooks from the NA/WPN.   Thanks to everyone who helped to make this a success!  I look forward to even a better year this year.

Kathy Hickerson, MGCEO

We almost always had someone in the booth looking for information on how to register, breed or buy a Dutch horse.  Bob Clement of Southwinds farm is shown here charming the ladies in his usual style.

Janko loved having his picture taken.  Here he is socializing with the booth across the way from us.  Janko please give other people some camera time!  You have your picture in all the Dutch magazines and covers, give us Americans a chance!

Linda Sabas (left) volunteered to help in the booth and it was always nice when friends visited. Here she is on a rare break to socialize with a friend.

Beth Dzaugis in our display stall in the booth with the Navarone & Matterhorn filly.  4 foals arrived out of quarantine Friday night and just in time for buyers.  The Matterhorn filly was sold.  A Goodtimes colt was also sold , with another buyer following us home to see the other Goodtimes colt that came out of quarantine on Sunday.

Bob Clement taught his horses to socialize with the horses in the other display stall.  He felt this was a way to attract the buyers!  Very clever.  This is his 3 year old Contango gelding, who always seemed to attract not only people but other horses.

It was great having Janko there.  He met many Dutch owners who had bought horses in Holland and looking to find out information on their horses.

Janko also gave breeding advice to many people looking to breed to one of their fabulous stallions.

Beth Dzaugis brought along her veterinarian, Chris.  Well, we could of used her to do a pre-purchase exam this year if she brought her bag.  Next year she will come prepared!

Of course it wouldn't be the same Janko without a phone in his ear!  Always keeping up to date with the latest going on at home.

Linda Saba discussing horses with Janko.  Linda had the great luck of trying to breed this year for the first time to a first time TB mare and got her mare pregnant with 1 dose.

The attractions in the booth get better each year!  Scot did a good job putting together some photo colages for our farms.  Thanks Scot!
