Majestic Gaits - George Williams Clinic Report
October 30, 2009
George Williams Clinic Report
Thanks to our sponsor Abaris Financial Group for sponsoring Colleen O'Connor-Dzik riding our stallion Schroeder (Sandro Hit x Escudo I) at the George Williams clinic.  This was a fantastic clinic with George Williams and we couldn't have done it without the generous help of Abaris Financial Group.  Please visit their website and support our sponsors who help our riders.

Schroeder and Colleen had a fantastic ride.  They worked on their flying changes and for the first time 1/2 steps.  We could all see the fantastic talent of the Schroeder and how he will have a super piaffe and passage.  Those that attended the clinic had a real treat.  George really liked Schroeder.  He has a super hind leg.  A very special Sandro Hit stallion with the unique mother SPS Esmeralda by Escudo I who brings that nice hind leg with the Sandro Hit modern blood, long legs and a superior character and trainability.

George Williams represented the United States both at the 2003 World Cup in Sweden, placing 5th and at the Hickstead European Championships placing in the top 10. He also rode on the US bronze medal Nations Cup Team in Aachen Germany in 2005. Williams is a much sought after clinician, with coaching credits including four NAJYRC individual medalists and numerous team medalists in his resume. A frequent contributor to dressage magazines, Williams is recognized for his dedication to giving back to the dressage community through his involvement with the USEF and USDF. He is Chair of the USEF High Performance Committee and Vice President of the USDF.

George was really fantastic with the riders.  There was sessions "dressage for jumper riders".  George gave instruction on basic dressage excercises showing good bending, working over the topline and control.  The jumper riders commented on how good this was for their flat work and for training of their horses.  From the basic to the advanced there was fantastic instruction from George.  He was clear and helpful for every type of horse.  I recommend to anyone to attend one of his clinics in the future!

VDL Navarone Injured
Unfortunately our Grand Prix dressage stallion who was recently the site champion of the ISR Oldenburg Stallion Licensing at Hilltop, VDL Navarone (Jus de Pomme x Armstrong) injured his front leg on the fence this week.  The cut is quite bad, but we are hopeful for a full recovery by spring.  The plan now is for stall rest and bandaging for several months.  Thanks for everyone who has posted on facebook their well wishes.  We will keep you posted on any changes
Navarone Champion of ISR Oldenburg NA Inspection at Hilltop
September 2, 2009
Navarone Champion of ISR Oldenburg NA Inspection
Horse International Navarone (Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) was a superstar on Friday at the ISR Oldenburg NA inspection at Hilltop Farm in Maryland.  We had a long 7 hour drive down the night before and just 10 minutes of warmup time to show upper level dressage movements, so we are thrilled at the results.  He was high score at the Stallion Licensing and received his lifetime license based on his 100 day test in Holland and his sport results.  This was the last registry we needed for our breeders.  He received 8's on his free jumping (not bad for not practicing or jumping for a long time!).  He was high score with 219.5 points.  He is now approved KWPN, ISR Oldenburg NA, Oldenburg GOV, RPSI, GOV, Swedish for Swedish Mares, Westfalen for Westfalen and Rhineland mares, Canadian Warmblood and Canadian Sporthorse.

The Hilltop Farm staff again was fantastic hosts.  Thanks to everyone for their help.

Thanks to a great team!  Navarone did his job, but not without the help of Colleen O'Connor-Dzik for riding, Makenzi Wendel as super groom ;-) and Phil Silva handling.  We couldn't do it without you.

Congrats to all the breeders and owners of Navarone offspring.  He continues to prove himself again!

Taloma (Navarone x Goodtimes) at first Dressage Show
The Top Ten mare, provisional Keur Taloma (Navarone x Goodtimes) went to her first dressage show with owner/rider Jill Stacey (NM).  At Training 4 (open) classk, their final score was 63.6% and placed 3rd.  Congrats!!!

From Jill: "I took Taloma to the Walk in the Park shows in Parker, CO, last weekend.  Our first real show!  She handled it all without too much fuss.  She didn't bat an eyelash at the busy crowded warmup or the loud boxes of flowers, either.   She wowed the judges with her free walk, getting her first 8 and 9 (!!!!) on the first day we were there.  William Solyntjes commented "Super horse with a big future" and in addition to the 9 for her free walk, he gave her an 8 on gaits and 7 on impulsion.    I'm just so proud of her, she's just such a pleasure to have as my best friend.  Such a good girl with personality plus!"  The only bad thing they did was they didn't bring home any pictures!  Work on that Jill! ;-)

Navarone & Colleen go Grand Prix!
August 22, 2009
VDL Navarone competes Grand Prix Dressage
Navarone (Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) Grand PrixSeven years ago we bought 1/2 of the fabulous approved KWPN stallion VDL Navarone.  We continued to jump him but tried him in dressage and he loved it.  With his rider Colleen O'Connor-Dzik they have been moving up the levels and winning together while learning the upper levels together.  Not an easy task for horse or rider to learn at the same time, but they did it. We had received nothing but great feedback on such a super work ethic and character Navarone has and he was fun to show.  Now this year we have finally made it to Grand Prix.  At the Centerline Hits show in Saugerties they were 4th place and 58.9%.  One judge gave a 60%. He received an 8 on the gaits and as always described as a good pair with potential. Everytime they went in the ring, they have learned more and the score has gone up.  Thanks to fabulous riding of Colleen O'Connor-Dzik and the coaching of Kathy Connelly.  Kathy loves coaching Colleen as she learns quick and such a classical rider.  Congrats to Colleen who is on her way to her USDF Gold Medal and to all the owners and breeders of Navarone foals!  Next competitions is NEDA Fall Show again in Saugerties, NY.
Washington (Orame - Animo) Jumping well
We have been having a lot of fun taking Washington (Orame - Animo) out jumping.  Ridden now by Makenzi Wendel who has just graduated from UNH and joined our farm as our jumper rider.  Gretchen Anderson is coaching Makenzi.  In October Makenzi will go for a few weeks to VDL Stud in Holland to learn more there.  At the Vermont Summer Festival they jumped well at 1 meter Horse Internationalwith a 7th place out of a huge class and jumped for the first time at 1.15 meter.  Washington has such high jumping talent.  You point him at the jump and he goes!  His gaits are phenomenal and he did well at training level dressage last year too, so he could do a lot of different sports for his new owner.  For sale.  Imported, clean xrays and health. Check out his videos jumping and dressage work on his web page.

He was described by the judges as "elastic elegant mover" and "elegant horse".   Schroeder will show again at the NEDA Fall Show in Saugerties, in September.

Sponsorship Opportunities at Majestic Gaits
Horse InternationalIt takes a lot of work and funds to run a breeding farm and sponsoring up and coming riders.  Our riders work hard, but we need support to to go shows, continue their education through regular lessons, clinics and Education in Europe to advance their careers.  While we have had the advantage of good support from VDL Stud in Holland and anonymous sponsors, we need more to help bring along our new riders too.  We have a lot of advertising opportunities to offer our sponsors  If your interesting in being part of our team as a sponsor, check out our sponsorship opportunities.

We were pretty taken aback...we had never seen a courbette from a foal before!! She galloped off (she also has an amazing gallop) and returned to her dam to do a little canter pirouette for us. I guess we know where her vote lies!).

New Videos up on Sales Horses
If your in the market to buy or just want to see some fantastic horse riding and young ones free, I have updated the videos of each of the following horses for sale.

Wembley D (Flemmingh - Actueel) 6 year old imported KWPN gelding ridden in the Frenk Jespers clinic by Colleen O'Connor-Dzik.  Wembley D is schooling his changes and a solid 2nd level right now.  Was high point KWPN horse at the NEDA Fall Show for his first show ever!  Super easy for anyone and talent for the upper levels.  A lot of fun and fantastic to ride and show.

Zem (Krack C - Goodtimes) 5 year old imported KWPN gelding ridden by Makenzi Wendel in the Frenk Jespers clinic.  Zem is highly talented horse with good suppleness and great character.  Solid 1st level and schooling 2nd.  Good for an amateur or professional who want to rise to the upper levels and enjoy a great horse!

Washington (Orame - Animo) 6 year old imported KWPN gelding ridden by Makenzi Wendel at the Joe Forest Gymnastic Jumping clinic.  This 17-1 hand horse has a lot of talent for jumping anything and this was only Makenzi's 3rd time jumping him and only rode him for 2 weeks before the clinic.  He was so easy and Makenzi did a great job jumping the 6 jumps in a row at a very new and strange place.  A super supple, big moving horse with talent for the upper level jumps.  Doesn't take a big person to ride him!

Emora MG (Farrington - Flemmingh) 2009 filly.  You have to watch this video.  Just a wow!  We already have the mare back in foal to Farrington.  Hoping for a colt version of this for next year to keep.   Farrington and Flemmingh are such a great cross and you can see why both stallions are so highly rated!

Eloma MG (Schroeder - Goodtimes) 2009 filly.  If you saw Dorette last year that was #4 in the nation.  This little gal is right behind her!  They are so similar.  Can't wait until she sheds out.  A fantastic LOMA line filly for future breeding and riding.  Super character too!

Evitta MG (Navarone - Glenridge) 2009 filly.  Full sibling to the first premium colt Chester.  This filly has that fantastic Navarone character, has learned the fastest of them all and just is going to be a lot of fun.  Super mover and top breeding.  I had hoped for a colt to keep, but maybe next time.  Check out the video of her deciding to go through the cavalettis on her own!  Fantastic talent for jumping!

More horses for sale on our sales page.
NEDA Spring Fling with Christoph Hess
We had a fantastic time at the NEDA Spring Fling.  Colleen rode our 14 year old Dutch stallion VDL Navarone (Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) as a demonstration team for the Intermediare Dressage level.  Christoph is a super clinician and very entertaining too.  We really enjoy his training.  He likes to stretch the horses like Colleen does already and very much like how Frenk Jespers trains.   It was a long 3 days and a great education.  It should be up on dressageclinic.com if not already soon!  Everyone at the clinic including Christoph were raving about Navarone's fantastic character and what a good stallion he is.  He is such a good boy and showed how easy he is like his children.  Colleen also did a fantastic job too!

Colleen and our 5 year old Hanoverian stallion Schroeder (Sandro Hit - Escudo I) had 2 great training sessions after the clinic.  Christoph loved Schroeder and said he was a top horse and should be at the Young Horse Championships in Germany.  He also said Colleen was a top rider and is a fantastic trainer for young horses and done the correct way.  All good things to hear and great feedback!  Woohoo!

Adante' (Navarone - Vlockmar) update
Horse International An update on Adante' (Navarone out of Esprit De Vie by Vlockmar) A colt bred and owned by Mary Sponhaltz (CA) now 4 years old.

Mary reports "Just a quick note to let you know how much fun I am having with Adante' (Navarone x Volckmar). I don't have an arena at my house yet so to ride in something other than a round pen, I have to trailer somewhere. Needless to say, our weekends have recently been filled with trailering excursions. Adante' has taken everything in stride, always settling into his new surroundings quickly (that Navarone temperament coming through). With only about 90 days under saddle, he is truly a pleasure to ride. Very forward and balanced with a big canter stride. I am hoping to compete him in both Materiale and Young Event Horse classes before the year is over as both my Dressage Trainer and Eventing Coach feel he will be competitive. Should be a fun summer. "

Fantastic Frenk Jespers Clinic
The clinic with Frenk Jespers from Holland at Ten Broeck Farm was fantastic.  Ten Broeck Farm was a super host as usual.  A fantastic dinner at the home of Sue Clark in Amherst NH.  A beautiful home, fantastic food and wondering people.  Lots of pictures coming soon on that too.

We had 5 horses in the clinic and at least 3 per day riding.  Colleen O'Connor-Dzik rode Navarone, Schroeder, Wembley and Wefidence.  Mackenzi Wendel rode Zem. And Phil Silva presented in hand Demmora MG (Schroeder - Flemmingh).  This is the first Schroeder foal ever and this filly is just fantastic, leggy and what a mover and easy going character.  All did a fantastic job and as usual Frenk was fantastic.  We hope he is back again next year.

I am working on getting videos up on youtube for all to see.  Coming soon!

Zem (Krack C - Goodtimes) the 5 year old gelding that we imported for training and to sell was fantastic.  Mackenzi joined us as an intern from UNH this winter and she did a fantastic job riding him in the clinic.  Zem is such a supple horse with really good gaits.  It is a really good feeling to have such a good horse with top talent for the upper level and have such good feed back from a top trainer in Holland such as Frenk Jespers.

Wembley D (Flemmingh - Actueel) the 6 year old gelding we imported for training and to sell was just as fantastic.  Frenk reassured that Colleen was doing the right training with him and commented on his uphill, active and good movements.  He is such a top horse and will make someone a nice Grand Prix horse some day.

Wefidence (Flemmingh - Beaujolais) 6 year old mare.  "Wefi" is such a sweet horse with really nice gaits.  Colleen's will be working on showing her to get her sport predicate and we will present her at the keuring.  She had a fantastic filly Confidence MG by Prestige (Silvano - Goodtimes) now owned by Martyna Echilczuk.  We look forward to breeding her again after she has proven herself in sport.

Schroeder (Sandro Hit - Escudo I) our 5 year old Hannoverian stallion amazed everyone at his gaits, fantastic character and ridability.  He has developed so much over the winter and Frenk commented how good he looks and what a fantastic stallion he was.  We are very proud of him and of course of the riding that Colleen is doing with him.  All the correct way and nice to have Frenk's reassurance and help to guide us to his promising future in sport.

VDL Navarone (Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) 14 year old KWPN stallion doing his Grand Prix work.  I get goose bumps watching this horse and knowing about the fantastic offspring he is throwing too.  He is so multi-talented.  We know he is a fantastic jumper and produced Grand Prix jumpers and winning!  But, to also achieve Grand Prix dressage, this is the ultimate for any horse and especially for a stallion with the extra work of breeding during the show season.  The clinic ended with Frenk having Colleen ride passage at least 2 times around the whole arena and it was a fantastic show!  Thanks to VDL for allowing us to buy 1/2 this horse and sharing in his success.  And congrats to all the people who own Navarone offspring, the fantastic characters you can not beat you know now and their talent.

Thanks to Frenk Jespers for coming to America again and helping us bring our riders and horses to their best!

World Cup 2009 - Lots of Fun!
We had a really good time in Las Vegas at the World Cup.  It was fantastic to see it all live and be part of it all.  We did hold up the KWPN Flag for each Dutch horse that came out, but in the end someone took it from us!  Great results for the KWPN horse with Steffan Peters winning on his gelding Ravel by Contango.  Great ride!
Another Schroeder filly arrives
Sandy Stokey Schroeder Filly Congrats to Sandy Stokey and her new Schroeder filly out of her Thoroughbred mare.

Born April 5, 2009. A beautiful bay filly! Sandy reports: "She is absolutely lovely! We had her out in one of the larger paddocks and she looks like she will be a fairly big mover with good freedom through her shoulder. She is very athletic... we have been treated to lead changes galore, a bit of passage and the beginnings of a canter pirouette (LOL). I really couldn't be happier with her and look forward to enjoying her for many years to come. Thanks so much for making such nice stallions available! "

Navarone - Glenridge filly arrives at Majestic Gaits
Arrived today...finally!  A beautifully bay filly by Navarone (Olympic Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) out of our Keur mare Obertede (Glenridge Keur - Zuidhorn).  This is a full sister to the 1st premium colt Chester MG.  She has very long legs, beautiful head and really a nice type with a long neck and really nice length in the body, hip and shoulder. Name and pictures coming after she has been out.  I tried to get pictures in the stall, but got a picture of a bucket, mom's head blocking her, blotches of light and every other terrible thing you can imagine.  LOL.  She is only a few hours old and already loves to play and Mom is being protective.
April News

Congrats to VDL Stud on their purchase of Eldorado MG (Zavall - Indorado)
Eldorado MG (Zavall - Indorado)
Congrats to VDL Stud in Holland on their purchase of our colt Eldorado MG (Zavall - Indorado - Marlon).  Eldorado MG is by the VDL Stallion Zavall (Casall - Emilion).  Bred by Majestic Gaits and born in Holland.  He showed at the VDL stallion show and the Jespers Stallion show in Holland.  We are very proud of this fantastic athletic colt and of course his mother Acordia (Indorado - Marlon - Accord II) Keur Elite who was high score jumping at her mare test last year.  For those that were there to see him, I heard good feedback on how nice he is and the mare Acordia too!  Thanks for the feedback.  I saw him on filmloop.nl live and he was having a lot of fun. I see you can rewatch the stallion show there now, but you have to pay a little for the most recent ones now.  Well worth it.  The pony races were so funny!  A must see!

Zavall (Casall - Emilon) the young VDL stallion did a very good job on the mare.  We will for sure breed back to him in the future.  We want to try Chello III (Contender - Sandro) while she is in Holland and bring Acordia home this year.  Zavall has super frozen!

Best of luck to VDL Stud in the future with Eldorado MG.  We hope to hear good things.

Eloma MG (Schroeder - Goodtimes) The next day after Emora MG arrives, Eloma MG arrives.  2 Fillies, 2 days in a row at 8am.  Very nice and one foal yet to go!  Do you all remember Dorette MG last year who was #4 filly in the nations by Schroeder?  Well, here is another just like her.  So, if you missed out, we are looking for buyers who want to show her so we can get the Schroeder offspring out there for everyone to see how good they are.  From the famous LOMA lines and out of our Keur Elite mare Miloma by Goodtimes.  This filly has power and is so far showing a canter machine and natural lead changes.  I bet she has no trouble doing her 1 tempis in the future.  For someone who wants to go somewhere in dressage and future breeding.  Proven famous motherline from Holland!  Bay with 2 short white socks.
Congrats to Janko and Hanneke on their new baby Girl!
Congrats to Janko van de Lageweg and his wife Hanneke on their new baby girl Janna Sytske born March 31st. Best of luck to the new family.

Zest de Pomme by Navarone
http://www.majesticgaits.com/navarone.htm Zest de Pomme mare by Navarone (Olympic Jus de Pomme - Armstrong), out of the thoroughbred mare Always Out xx.

Update from Breeder Elizabeth Ciemniewski "This picture was taken in February, 2008 in Wellington, FL. Our mare will be 5 years old this year, and is jumping 3'6" in the picture below. We chose Navarone for the dam, Always Out xx, because we wanted a quiet character and all-rounder with respect to movement and jumping ability that would build on the stamina and fortitude of the thoroughbred dam. We now have a lovely mare that is uncomplicated and simple to ride, yet brave and athletic. Best of all, she is extemely correct and we have been told by many judges and top riders that she is an excellent sport horse type and broodmare candidate."

Owner is Tim Millard, and the rider in the photo is his daughter, Vivian Millard. Congrats to all on the great success. We look forward to hearing more about her in the future!
Zalig MG (Navarone - Accord II) qualifies for National Eventing Championships
Zalig (Navarone - Accord II)Zalig MG (Navarone - Accord II) bred by Majestic Gaits out of the Keur mare Larinette now owned by Terry Schrubb (NH) 1st Place 1st Premium Foal Top Ten #3 Nation KWPN-NA Keuring 2005. Now owned by Cynthia Moore-West (Colorado)

Updated from Cynthia "This picture is from his first cross-country schooling. As you can see he has a HUGE jump and really seems to like cross-country. Zalig competed in his first United States Eventing Assoc. Young Event Horse competed and won by a landslide with a 73% which is a qualifier for the national championships. Zalig (Ziggy is his barn name) never ceases to amaze me with his talent, unlimited potential and his wonderful willing attitude.

Currently I am working with a international dressage trainer and he is already doing half-pass, changes and showing talent for passage. I am also looking to qualify him for the USDF nationals for the young dressage horse the year. Zalig has been everything I have always wanted in a great well rounded athlete along with a very loving personality. Thank you for the opportunity to purchase such a wonderful horse."

Congrats Cynthia!  Navarone has been very popular among the event breeders since he is so talented in both jumping in dressage!  Great to hear the great success and best of all in the championships!  We hope to hear good news!
Ricardo (Flemmingh out of Miloma) wins at shows!

His first show in 2001 and mine since 2005. We just went out there and went for it, and won both our classes in the open division with scores of 65 and 69. " Congrats to and keep up the great success!  Thanks for keeping in touch.

Videos from Pineland Stallion Show
Horse InternationalWe had a great show at Pineland Farms in Maine with the 3 stallions Farrington Keur (Wellington - Doruto), Navarone (Olympic Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) and Schroeder (Sandro Hit - Escudo I).  This was Farringtons first show since he was imported in 2005.  At 22 years old he looked fabulous, barefoot and moving big and uphill as he naturally does.  Colleen O'Connor-Dzik debuted her Grand Prix movements with Navarone and showed his awesome Piaffe, Passage, Pirouettes and his 15 flawless one time tempis.  Schroeder was a good boy and so easy to show like the other two stallions and showed his fabulous gaits.  I put the videos online of Farrington and Navarone on their web pages at www.majesticgaits.com. More pictures coming soon! Thanks to Pineland Farms, Bobby Murray and Gwenyth McPhearson for inviting us to this fabulous event and a job well done.  The trade show was great, great food, great show.  Next year they plan to open it up to more stallions.  They had a full house in the big arena with standing room only.  We plan to go every year!  For sure an event not to miss and done in the style of the shows in Europe.

Frenk Jespers Clinic April 24-26
We are so excited Frenk Jespers is coming again from Holland for a clinic at Ten Broeck Farm in Pepperill, MA.  Just 15 minutes from us.  Lucky us! We have our riding horses there anyway for the winter, so even better!  Frenk is an international clinician, KWPN judge, previous stallion committee KWPN dressage judge, rider, trainer, coach and now coaches the Turkish Olympic team.  He coaches Kirsten Beckers and the Grand Prix dressage stallion Jazz!  Frenk and his son Rick are down to earth people and a lot of fun and full of worldly knowledge you will find no where else!  Plan on riding or auditing this fantastic clinic.  NEDA members $30/day or $75 for all 3 days.  A fabulous deal from a classical trainer that believes in taking time for the horse to be their best. Also some riding spots are available.

Our stallions Schroeder (Sandro Hit - Escudo I) and Navarone (Olympic Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) will be riding all 3 days.  Our imported geldings for sale 6 year old Wembley (Flemmingh - Actueel), 5 year old Zem (Krack C - Goodtimes) will be riding along with our 6 year old mare Wefidence (Flemmingh - Beaujolais).

Details at Ten Broeck Farm or NEDA websites.
CEM restrictions for Canada, yes we are shipping!
I am sure you all have heard by now about the CEM outbreak in USA.  While it is not in our area, it does affect our Canadian customers as now import permits and health certificates are required for shipping semen from USA to Canada.  We are an hour away from our USDA office and yes we will plan to ship to Canada to service our customers.  Customers will have to apply for an import permit in Canada. ($85 for a multiple permit so it covers the season for you).  This permit should be applied for as soon as possible but at least 5-7 days prior to shipping.  We will need to get a health certificate for each collection.  We need advance notice so we can get an appointment with the USDA on the day of collection.  So, as soon as you know that we are shipping for a particular heat cycle, contact us by phone.  We always ship 2 doses and we will do everything we can to get your shipment in time for your mare.

KWPN-NA Annual Meeting Report
The KWPN-NA annual meeting in San Diego was the best ever!  Sorry for those that missed it.  I am not sure of the final count but for sure over 120 people came.  So good to see everyone again and also meet some new people and put some faces to those emails and phone calls.

The lectures were great from speakers Cor Loeffin from Holland, Janko van de Lageweg from VDL Stud and Debbie Harrison had the latest vet breeding news. All not too long and no ants in the pants for this gal!  Could of actually had a bit more time for questions from everyone.  Hard to pack so much in a long weekend anyhow.  Luckily the KWPN-NA as a clinician bouncer name Dan Ruediger.  :-)

The practice judging at Steffan Peters farm was very helpful for all.  We were all put in groups and practiced judging horses using the linear scoring method we learned.  We had to come up with a group score just like the judges do for our horses.  Then we compared our scores with Cor Loeffin's.  We also had to come up with a recommended stallion for the mare.  Some were geldings.  I think that breeder is going to have troubles. ;-)  Cor and Janko then made their recommendations and we all compared and discussed.  The varying opinions were interesting. I think everyone learned how hard the job is for our judges each year, but also how their horses are being judged.

We then had a fabulous demonstration with Olympic Idocus riding an I-II test with his new young rider.

The best was Steffan Peters riding Olympic Rival and riding their new freestyle test they plan for the World Cup in Vegas coming up.  Steffan gave us commentary on everything he did to prepare for his ride.  He stressed on suppling the horse.  What a great rider and a fabulous clinician.

The meeting ended with a fabulous awards dinner and lots of fun.  Congrats to Debbie Harrison who is breeder of the year!  I feel special she chose Navarone this year to breed too! Janko van de Lageweg who is member of the year!  And FEI horse of the year Hickstead.  Along with all the people who received those top awards for DG Bar Cup and Iron Spring Cup.  (All listed in previous news)  It was just nice to see everyone doing so well and especially to see Farrington's offspring and riders winning those big Trophy Cups! That was special.  I understand the clinician bouncer got an award on some mare by Farrington, but I wont say as I always get it wrong.  LOL.  But, I understand he will be #1 next year!

Farrington Keur, Navarone & Schroeder BWP Futurity Eligible
Navarone Jumping The Belgian Warmblood Registry Foal Futurity has a new foal futurity for mares bred in 2009.  We have nominated Farrington, Navarone and Schroeder.  Foals born in 2010 that attend the BWP inspections have a chance for the top 10 in the nation and a share in the $ prize. Foals can be nominated prior to the inspection for $35.  Best to luck to our breeders of Farrington, Navarone or Schroeder.

For Sale $55,000.  Clean xrays.
Altair by Navarone Reserve Champion 3 year old USDF KWPN-NA
Congrats to Rita Reynolds on her mare Altair by Navarone (Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) who was Reserve Champion 3 yr old division in USDF KWPN-NA awards!!  "She is quite a looker, extremely quick to learn and very kind.  Can't wait to see what more muscling up does for her already naturally suspended movement". Rita Reynolds, Lebanon, Ohio, Field of Dreams
Great Hanoverian Annual Meeting
AHS Annual Meeting Award Fun in Reno!
My sister Jennifer and I had a fun time in Reno, NV after we finally got there for the Hanoverian Annual meeting.  It was a horrible flight delay into San Francisco due to rain.  If we delayed for rain in New England, we would never fly anywhere.  We ended up sleeping the first night in the airport and then put on standby for flights into Reno.  When we finally got there, they didn't deliver our bag for another whole day!  It was pretty bad and we were happy to just finally arrive. I snuck in and out of the meetings in my travel clothes until our bags arrived.  Unfortunately I missed the reception as I was just too tired and still no clothes to change into.

I may not be a big winner in the casino, but I was #3 in the Hanoverian Black Jack tournament.  Pretty darn good for someone who knows little about the game.  It was fun to see our Hanoverian friends and fellow breeders and an enjoyable meeting. The highlight of the trip for me was getting Schroeders #1 Hanoverian stallion award with a very fancy cooler and big Blue ribbon at the fabulous banquet.  Congrats to Phil Silva for handling him in the shows for this award!
Maplewood Farm Visit & Osilvis (Silvio II - Nimmerdor)
Osilvis (Silvio II - Nimmerdor)We had a fantastic visit with the Hanoverian group to Maplewood Farm in Reno, NV.  Our host Lyn Mundt, the breeding manager at Maplewood showed us their stallions and we were especially impressed with Osilvis (Silvio II - Nimmerdor).  Not only was he beautiful and was winning $50,000 grand prixs but he was from VDL stallion lines Silvio II and Nimmerdor.  Dr. Ludwig Christmann from the Hanoverian Verband in Germany was asked to comment on Osilvis conformation as we had discussion about conformation of jumpers.  He gave high praise for him and said his conformation could be good for a dressage horse too.  He might be a little more square frame than you want in a dressage horse, but that was all.  Thanks to the AHS for a great meeting and to Maplewood for a fantastic tour of all their fabulous jumpers of all different breeds!
VDL Champion Stallion KWPN Stallion Show
A great success for VDL Stud in Holland having 3 of the top 6 stallions in the KWPN Stallion Selections!  Congrats to VDL Stud!

Champion: Stallion B (Indoctro x Nimmerdor). According to the jury the most complete stallion: a beautiful type, good movements and jumping and a very good pedigree. The mother of B is also mother of the international jumper Sunsolde.

Reserve-Champion: Bustique (Indoctro x Grannus). Bustique is a half-brother of the International jumpers Noor and Mustique.  Bustique is not owned by VDL but they are very proud of offspring of their stallions too!

4th: Bears (Quaprice Z x Jus de Pomme). Bears is a 1/2 brother of VDL Vegas (Atlantic - Jus de Pomme) bred by E. van Ittersum from Giethoorn.  Got to love that Jus de Pomme blood!

Placed 6th in the final, Badelero VDL (Silverstone x Indoctro) Badelero showed an excellent jumping technique and comes from the famous Azemieka line. Also the approved stallions Glennridge, Everest, Arkansas and the International jumper Soutwind VDL descend from this family.

Overall VDL had 8 jumping bred stallions sected to go to the KWPN stallion test for final approval.  In addition to the 3 above (B, Bears and Baderlero)...

Barrichello (Campione x Libero H)
Bodyguard (Cardento x Indorado)
Bartender (Cardento x Contender)
Bupardie (Corland x Kannan)
Bagus D (Indorado x Lord)

In total there were 36 jumping bred stallions selected for the test. VDL Stud has a very good result with 8 out of 36 stallions selected. There were also 3 other sons of Indoctro and a son of Chin Chin selected for the stallion test.  Best of luck in the testing!
VDL Stallions Success at the Stallion Competitions!
Great success for the VDL Stallions at the Stallion Competitions this year in Holland.  All approved stallions in Holland are required to do 2 years of the competition in order to keep their approval status.  Just one of the many requirements that approved stallions have to keep their approvals.

VDL Vegas (Atlantic - Jus de Pomme) and his rider Dennis van Tilburg became Champion of the KWPN/KNHS Stallion competition of the 1.30/1.35m class. In the final competition round they made a clear round and placed 4th. With this result and previous results in other competition rounds they were the best performing KWPN Stallion in this class.

In the class of the 1.10m class there was a great result for Zapatero VDL (Chin Chin x Ircolando), ridden by Dennis van Tilburg. They won the last round of the stallion competition. With this result they became reserve-Champion of the total competition.

Zavall VDL (Casall x Emilion), ridden by Angelique Hoorn was very successful, yesterday evening they placed 4th and in the final rankings they also placed 4th.

VDL Westpoint (Jazz - Michelangelo) placed 2nd at the kwpn/knhs stallion dressage competition Den Bosch.  He received a score of 90%.  We will again not have frozen semen from Westpoint this year as he did not take out time from training, but we hope maybe in the future.

Besides her results she has attracted the attention of many top trainers who felt she was by far the best mover, the most athletic and had the potential to be developed into a great horse (of course I already knew that :) - but it is very exciting to have people of such caliber come tell me this."
