Equine Affaire 2004

Thanks to all the volunteers and sales support this year at Equine Affaire.  We would not be able to put up this elaborate booth, be there for 4 full days and evenings and promote the Dutch Warmblood without you.

Volunteers:  Colleen O'Connor, Kathy Hickerson, Melissa Meryweather, Kate O'Connor, Bonnie Timmerman (University of Northern Vermont), Liz Austin, Rick Hickerson, Adam Hickerson, Amy Fickett, Amanda Hickerson, Alex Hickerson, Debbie Malcomson, Michele Sakarai, and Monica Sakarai.

Breeders/Sellers Support:  Mark Lohmann from Pineland Farms, Melissa Meryweather Northern Bough Farm, Gretchen Anderson from Apple Knoll Farm (NH), Lyn Fonzo, Beth Dzaugis from Stone Rose Farm, Mary Fabish from Triad Farms, Carol Whelan from Boreal Farm, VDL Stud and of course Majestic Gaits.

Thanks to the KWPN and NAWPN for sending lots of flyers, pens and banners.

Lots of volunteers and visitors this year. From left: Paul Cormier, Kate O'Connor, Colleen O'Connor, Melissa Meryweather and 2 unidentified visitors.

The imported foals were super this year coming to the display stall all by themselves after arriving from Holland just 1 week before.  They stayed in the stall for 4 hours and by the end with the noise, heat and people interaction, they are sleepy!  It is a great experience for them and the people love to see the foals.

Every year we expand upon our library.  People love to come in and look up the pedigrees and make copies of their horses sire's pictures.

New this year we sold KWPN logo hats and polo shirts to help support the costs of the booth.  Costs grow each year, so we hope this and the support we've received will keep us going each year.  We hope to add merchandise each year as everyone loved it!  KWPN Logo merchandise now available to order online. We hope the continuing sales will help support the booth costs for this year and years to come. Also, the University of Vermont Dressage sponsored the booth and we helped them to sell their T-Shirts to support the team.  A win-win for both of us.

Amanda Hickerson displaying the KWPN hats, showing off her official Equine Affaire vendor badge and ready to sell you a hat!

People really enjoyed the videos along with the many sales and breeding flyers.

Alex Hickerson represented the Dutch Warmbloods in the youth stick races.  Unfortunately he entered into the barrel race and no one told him Dutch horses aren't barrel horses and he says his horse went off course and he was eliminated. I think your riding a jumper Alex! ;-)

The Equine Affaire Demo Team.  From left: Liz Austin on the stallion Heirarch by Olympic Cocktail, Colleen O'Connor - Demo Coordinator, Meredith Hoag on her mare La Fleur Lili Marlene by Glendale and Bonnie Timmerman with her 2 year old colt Vivaldi by Flemmingh.  The team was great and it was just exciting to hear all the cheers from the crowd.  The arena is huge and we had the biggest audience yet.

Liz and Heirarch brought cheers when they did their 1 tempis. Thanks to both of them for coming and doing a wonderful demonstration.  Liz has a list of young rider awards that go on forever.  A very successful team.

Bonnie Timmerman brought her 2 year old gelding Vivaldi (Flemmingh x Goodtimes).  Bonnie bought Vivaldi when he was imported by Majestic Gaits and VDL Stud as a foal.  Everyone loved him in the display stall and Bonnie says...He is my next FEI prospect and he is not for sale!
