Videos from Pineland Stallion Show
Horse InternationalWe had a great show at Pineland Farms in Maine with the 3 stallions Farrington Keur (Wellington - Doruto), Navarone (Olympic Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) and Schroeder (Sandro Hit - Escudo I).  This was Farringtons first show since he was imported in 2005.  At 22 years old he looked fabulous, barefoot and moving big and uphill as he naturally does.  Colleen O'Connor-Dzik debuted her Grand Prix movements with Navarone and showed his awesome Piaffe, Passage, Pirouettes and his 15 flawless one time tempis.  Schroeder was a good boy and so easy to show like the other two stallions and showed his fabulous gaits.  I put the videos online of Farrington and Navarone on their web pages at www.majesticgaits.com. More pictures coming soon! Thanks to Pineland Farms, Bobby Murray and Gwenyth McPhearson for inviting us to this fabulous event and a job well done.  The trade show was great, great food, great show.  Next year they plan to open it up to more stallions.  They had a full house in the big arena with standing room only.  We plan to go every year!  For sure an event not to miss and done in the style of the shows in Europe.

Frenk Jespers Clinic April 24-26
We are so excited Frenk Jespers is coming again from Holland for a clinic at Ten Broeck Farm in Pepperill, MA.  Just 15 minutes from us.  Lucky us! We have our riding horses there anyway for the winter, so even better!  Frenk is an international clinician, KWPN judge, previous stallion committee KWPN dressage judge, rider, trainer, coach and now coaches the Turkish Olympic team.  He coaches Kirsten Beckers and the Grand Prix dressage stallion Jazz!  Frenk and his son Rick are down to earth people and a lot of fun and full of worldly knowledge you will find no where else!  Plan on riding or auditing this fantastic clinic.  NEDA members $30/day or $75 for all 3 days.  A fabulous deal from a classical trainer that believes in taking time for the horse to be their best. Also some riding spots are available.

Our stallions Schroeder (Sandro Hit - Escudo I) and Navarone (Olympic Jus de Pomme - Armstrong) will be riding all 3 days.  Our imported geldings for sale 6 year old Wembley (Flemmingh - Actueel), 5 year old Zem (Krack C - Goodtimes) will be riding along with our 6 year old mare Wefidence (Flemmingh - Beaujolais).

Details at Ten Broeck Farm or NEDA websites.
CEM restrictions for Canada, yes we are shipping!
I am sure you all have heard by now about the CEM outbreak in USA.  While it is not in our area, it does affect our Canadian customers as now import permits and health certificates are required for shipping semen from USA to Canada.  We are an hour away from our USDA office and yes we will plan to ship to Canada to service our customers.  Customers will have to apply for an import permit in Canada. ($85 for a multiple permit so it covers the season for you).  This permit should be applied for as soon as possible but at least 5-7 days prior to shipping.  We will need to get a health certificate for each collection.  We need advance notice so we can get an appointment with the USDA on the day of collection.  So, as soon as you know that we are shipping for a particular heat cycle, contact us by phone.  We always ship 2 doses and we will do everything we can to get your shipment in time for your mare.

KWPN-NA Annual Meeting Report
The KWPN-NA annual meeting in San Diego was the best ever!  Sorry for those that missed it.  I am not sure of the final count but for sure over 120 people came.  So good to see everyone again and also meet some new people and put some faces to those emails and phone calls.

The lectures were great from speakers Cor Loeffin from Holland, Janko van de Lageweg from VDL Stud and Debbie Harrison had the latest vet breeding news. All not too long and no ants in the pants for this gal!  Could of actually had a bit more time for questions from everyone.  Hard to pack so much in a long weekend anyhow.  Luckily the KWPN-NA as a clinician bouncer name Dan Ruediger.  :-)

The practice judging at Steffan Peters farm was very helpful for all.  We were all put in groups and practiced judging horses using the linear scoring method we learned.  We had to come up with a group score just like the judges do for our horses.  Then we compared our scores with Cor Loeffin's.  We also had to come up with a recommended stallion for the mare.  Some were geldings.  I think that breeder is going to have troubles. ;-)  Cor and Janko then made their recommendations and we all compared and discussed.  The varying opinions were interesting. I think everyone learned how hard the job is for our judges each year, but also how their horses are being judged.

We then had a fabulous demonstration with Olympic Idocus riding an I-II test with his new young rider.

The best was Steffan Peters riding Olympic Rival and riding their new freestyle test they plan for the World Cup in Vegas coming up.  Steffan gave us commentary on everything he did to prepare for his ride.  He stressed on suppling the horse.  What a great rider and a fabulous clinician.

The meeting ended with a fabulous awards dinner and lots of fun.  Congrats to Debbie Harrison who is breeder of the year!  I feel special she chose Navarone this year to breed too! Janko van de Lageweg who is member of the year!  And FEI horse of the year Hickstead.  Along with all the people who received those top awards for DG Bar Cup and Iron Spring Cup.  (All listed in previous news)  It was just nice to see everyone doing so well and especially to see Farrington's offspring and riders winning those big Trophy Cups! That was special.  I understand the clinician bouncer got an award on some mare by Farrington, but I wont say as I always get it wrong.  LOL.  But, I understand he will be #1 next year!
